Energizing the Power of Community

Town of Lockhart 100 TreesLockhart Power is an active member of the community it calls home. From contributions to local nonprofit organizations and local schools to tree plantings at town/city gateways to assisting in home improvement for the residents of Lockhart, S.C., the company is engaged in supporting economic development and community improvement efforts.

Partnerships with Union County and Spartanburg County have included the contribution of annual utility license tax credit funds to support industrial economic development projects in those counties. This generous funding has led to improvements in infrastructure and more opportunities for business growth.

In 2017 Lockhart Power organized and hosted a Housing summit in order to bring together local housing and industry professionals and governmental leaders to identify current housing challenges and develop a coordinated community-wide approach to begin to address these issues collaboratively in Union County.

A few of the dozens organizations Lockhart Power has partnered with include:

  • Boys and Girls Club of the Upstate
  • Union County High School Science Scholarships
  • Main Street Junction multi-purpose meeting facility
  • South Carolina State Museum Foundation
  • Union County Development Board
