Special Protections Available to You

If you have health conditions, are elderly, or face other challenges, we have programs to help protect your service.

Special Support Protection

Who qualifies: Anyone who is chronically ill, handicapped, elderly, or depends on life support equipment.
What you get: Extra review before disconnection and personal contact attempts.
How to apply: Call us and we'll send
a form for your doctor to fill out.

Winter Protection Program

When: December through March
Who qualifies: Anyone with a medical condition where losing heat could be dangerous.
How it works: Your doctor certifies disconnection would be dangerous, and we defer shutoff for up to 4 months. Back payment begins after the deferred shutoff period.

Extreme Weather Policy

Automatic protection when:

  • Temperature above 100°F
  • Temperature below 32°F

We voluntarily suspend all disconnections during dangerous weather.

Third-Party Notifications

What it is: We'll also send disconnection notices to a family member, friend, or caregiver you choose.
Why it helps: Ensures someone else knows if you're at risk of losing service.
