Energy Saving Tips

Many choices we make every day can affect the amount of energy we use and in turn the price of our power bills. Here are a few tips to help you save energy and money:

Change your current light bulbs to LED light bulbs. LED is a highly energy efficient lighting technology, and has the potential to fundamentally change the future of lighting in the United States.  Residential LEDs — especially ENERGY STAR rated products — use at least 75% less energy, and last 25 times longer, than incandescent lighting.

To save on heating and cooling costs, make sure that your home is properly insulated and sealed to prevent heat and air leakage.

If you need to heat one room more than the others, don’t turn up the thermostat for the entire house. Consider a portable electric space heater.
